About Ken

Ken Mickey’s journey in the garage door industry began after earning his A.A.S. from Eastern Wyoming College and his B.S. from the University of Nevada, Reno. He started at Thompson Garage Doors answering phones at the front desk, an entry point that gave him valuable insight into the customer experience.

Over the next 29 years, Ken moved through nearly every department, eventually serving as Operations Manager for more than two decades. His hands-on approach and extensive product knowledge have made him a go-to expert for custom residential projects and high-performance solutions.

Outside the day-to-day, Ken is also a proud contributor to the Northern Nevada business community. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Better Business Bureau Mountain West and is a former President and Board Member of both the BBB of Northern Nevada and the Executives’ Association of Reno.
